Competition Overview
To protect and carry forward Lingnan outstanding traditional culture better, and effectively spread Chinese
civilization overseas, Youth Committee of Guangdong Hipster Overseas Sodality gives play to the advantages
of the civic platform and cooperates with plenty of youth clubs in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay
Area to initiate the young people at home and abroad to pay close attention to the Lingnan culture, and
record and create wonderful works for the competition.
The competition will last for half a year from 17th Jan.,2021 with online submission from 1st Feb. to 30th
Jun.. The evaluation committee constituted by the authoritative experts of film and television and cultural
circles at home and abroad will carry out review and preliminary assessment of competition works. The final
network voting will be performed from 1st Jul. to 7th Jul., and then the review committee will carry out
comprehensive assessment of all selected works and choose one batch of award-winning works. The award-giving
meeting will be held in mid to late Jul. which the important guests and experts at home and abroad will
attend.

1) This competition is mainly for domestic and overseas young creators at the age of 16-45.
2) Regardless of the job, language and region, any learner and amateur of Lingnan traditional culture can
participate in the competition in the name of individual or team.
3) Competition theme: "Lingnan culture", including but not limited to Guang Fu Culture, Hakka Culture and
Chao Shan Culture;
4) The competition works can cover music, traditional Chinese opera, technology, architecture, park,
folk-custom, diet, language and home culture of overseas Chinese for full display of characteristics of
Lingnan culture-being diversified, pragmatic, open, compatible and innovative;
5) The competition works shall be original and real, and shall not violate the laws or public order and
good custom;
6) Encourage the creation subject to perfect combination between healthy, thoughtful and artistic theme
and film and television shooting and production technology;
7) The contribution for the competition is officially accepted on 1st Feb..
1) Competition commencement (17th Jan.): The competition kick-off ceremony is held and the activity officially
starts;
2) Collection of works in the first stage (from 1st Feb. to 30th Mar.): The competitors/competing groups
sign up for the competition and send the competition works by the way of contribution;
3) Preliminary assessment in the first stage (from 1st Apr. to 15th Apr.): 100 excellent works are
selected for the next round of competition from all the works collected in the first stage by network voting
and organizing committee review (the quantity of short video works and picture works doesn't exceed 50,
respectively);
4) Collection works in the second stage (from 15th Apr. to 15th Jun.): The competitors/competing groups
sign up for the competition and send the competition works by the way of contribution;
5) Preliminary assessment of works in the second stage (from 16th Jun. to 30th Jun.): 100 excellent works
are selected for the next round of competition from all the works collected in the second stage by network
voting and organizing committee review (the quantity of short video works and picture works doesn't exceed 50,
respectively);
6) Network voting (from 1st Jul. to 7th Jul.): 200 excellent works selected for the next round of
competition after the preliminary assessment (the quantity of short video works and picture works doesn't
exceed 100, respectively) are subject to one-week total network voting and broadcast exhibition with
competition publicity by all portal websites and mainstream platforms.
7) Expert review (early Jul.): The review committee carries out comprehensive assessment of excellent
works selected for the next round of competition, and select all the prize-winning works finally pursuant to
network voting and expert review results;
8) Prize giving ceremony (mid to late Jul.): The competitors of winning works (individual/group) will be
invited to attend the competition award ceremony, and all the prizes will be given on site; At the same time,
the award-winning works will be selected for the list of exhibits of Urban Art Space Touring Exhibition of
Youth Committee of Guangdong Hipster Overseas Sodality.
The works for the first Greater Bay Area Youth (Traditional Culture) Image International Competition are
divided into short video works and picture works. The competition organizing committee takes charge of
organizing the registration and selection.
Format Requirement Against The Works For The Competition
1) Requirements against short video works:
Duration requirement: In principle, the short video works shall not exceed 5min;
Subtitle requirement: The English subtitles shall be provided for the dialogue,
aside and commentary of short film works;
The size of the works for the competition shall be controlled to be no more than
300MB;
The original film of the works selected for the next round of competition shall be
provided, there shall be no LOGO or watermark in the picture, and the video format shall be mainly
high-definition MP4 and avi/mpg/wmv is the alternate format.
2) Picture works:
The colorful and black and white films, and digital works can be used to participate
in the competition. The original positive and negative films or the primary file of digital works shall be
retained so that the award-winning works can be printed for publication;
Decline the computer creative works or works with original image changed, that is to
say that only the brightness, contrast and color saturation of the pictures for the competition can be
properly adjusted, and the technical processing (such as synthesis, addition and dramatically changing the
color) is forbidden;
The long side of the picture subject to online submission is required to be of
1800-3000pixel with resolution ratio: 300dpi and size: 5M;
The quantity of works for single competition shall not exceed 9.
Registration And Submission of Works
1) Time of submission: From 1st Feb., 2021 to 30th Jun., 2021 (Beijing time);
2) The participators in China shall publish the picture and short video works on the Weixin Channels by
adding the activity theme-"# The First Greater Bay Area Youth Image International Competition" and then send
the link of the published work to the customer service WeChat account of the sponsor.
3) The customer service personnel will notify the competitor to send the works passing the extensive
selection to the mailbox of Film Review Department: media@gdchaoqing.com;
4) The foreign competitors are selected and sent by the specific collection channels of participation
organizations (such as co-organizer).
